Geiko and Maiko represent the preservation of traditional Japanese culture, especially in the historical Gion district of Kyoto. You will have a nice meal with them.

MAIKO (舞妓)

Maiko are apprentice Geiko. They are younger and in training to become fully qualified Geiko. Maiko wear more elaborate hairstyles, colorful kimonos with long sleeves, and striking accessories such as long, decorative obis (sashes). They focus on learning traditional dance, music, and etiquette, and are distinguished by their youthful appearance and vibrant outfits.

Geisha (芸者)

A Geisha is a traditional Japanese female entertainer trained in the performing arts, such as classical music, dance, and poetry. They are highly skilled in conversation and hospitality, often performing at banquets or private gatherings. Geisha wear elegant, understated kimonos and makeup, with their iconic white face makeup and red and black accents. Unlike the more vibrant and elaborate Maiko, who are apprentices, Geisha project a mature, refined appearance.
